Terry Gilliam has an imagination like no other. He has a third eye, to see things in a new perspective. He loves wide angle lenses, and invites you to see the beautiful background in his films (Hamel). Another element he incorporates is his projects are bizarre costume selections and make-up on his actors/actress. Terry Gilliam makes sure to be outrageous rather than ordinary and that is what makes him so popular. Furthermore his major themes are distinguishing "higher" and "lower" layers of society, with a disturbing and ironic taste. He also makes sure people know what he trying to convey, he thrives on people having the knowledge of their field (Wiki). Lastly, what influences Gilliam to keep producing such creative films? Basically, his emotions and feelings. He has a hard time expressing them to others believe it or not, so withdraws from the world and tries to find himself. Also from his past experiences with the people he met along the way from"Monty Ponthy" to developing as a director. The most important influence would be his environment. He takes whats around him and tries to make a different sense of each object, from women to the smallest grain of sand (Hamel). Overall Terry Gilliam has inspired people with his artistic style, his trending themes and the things that influence him will influence others.
